I began exploring energy work and Reiki in 1994 as part of my own spiritual studies, long before I imagined it would become the work I would someday offer professionally. I received my Reiki Master Teacher certification from Jeff Noblett in 1999 and continued deepening my spiritual practice while simultaneously building a career in corporate America.
For nearly three decades, I lived with a foot in both worlds.
By day, I worked in the corporate world, managing complex projects, solving problems, navigating deadlines, and understanding firsthand what it is like to live with constant demands on your time and energy. Outside of that world, I continued studying energy work, spirituality, healing, ritual, and the relationship between our inner and outer lives.
I am also a trained and initiated Priestess, and sacred ceremony has been part of my life for more than 30 years. Of all the forms of ritual I have experienced and facilitated, I have always been particularly drawn to rites of passage—the moments when we cross a threshold and need a way to acknowledge that something has ended, something has begun, or we ourselves have changed.
When my son regressed into autism in 2008, my priorities shifted dramatically. Like so many parents entering the autism world, I suddenly found myself trying to understand an overwhelming landscape of therapies, providers, biomedical approaches, educational systems, services, advocacy, and competing ideas about how best to support my child.
I immersed myself in learning.
Over time, that experience grew into supporting and mentoring other autism parents as they navigated their own paths. I was invited to contribute a chapter to a book with Team TMR (Thinking Moms' Revolution), and I have continued attending autism conferences, learning, connecting with families, and supporting other parents.
That journey taught me something else that profoundly influences the work I do today:
The caregiver needs care, too.
It is incredibly easy to spend years caring for everyone around you while slowly disappearing from your own life.
In 2024, I discovered Metaphysical Anatomy and was fascinated by its approach to exploring the emotional and subconscious patterns that can influence our lives. I began training with Dr. Rose in 2025 and added Metapsychology Coaching to the collection of tools I had accumulated over decades of spiritual practice, energy work, caregiving, advocacy, and personal growth.
Then, in late 2025, after nearly 30 years in corporate America, I was unexpectedly laid off.
What initially looked like an ending became an invitation.
Instead of immediately returning to the corporate world I had known for most of my adult life, I decided to ask a different question:
What if I finally built my life around the work that had been quietly calling me all along?
Healing with Joy grew from that question.
I continued expanding my training and exploring modalities that could support not only parents and caregivers, but also the busy professionals, overwhelmed humans, seekers, and people standing at crossroads who have spent so much of their lives doing that they may have forgotten how to simply listen to themselves.
As Healing with Joy was beginning to take shape, I was also moving through one of the most difficult chapters of my own life: leaving an abusive relationship and beginning the work of healing from domestic violence.
Suddenly, so much of what I had spent decades studying was no longer theoretical.
I had to learn what it meant to create safety again—not just around me, but within myself. I had to listen differently to my body and nervous system, rebuild trust in my own perceptions and intuition, establish boundaries I was willing to protect, grieve what I had lost, and begin discovering who I was when I was no longer organizing my life around surviving.
And I learned that healing is rarely a straight line.
There were things I could understand intellectually long before my body believed them. There were pieces of myself I needed to grieve, pieces I needed to reclaim, and others I was meeting for what felt like the very first time. Breathwork, energy work, meditation, ceremony, creativity, community, and the healing practices I had gathered throughout my life became part of my own process—not as ways to erase what had happened, but as ways to find myself again after it.
That experience changed the way I hold space for other people.
I understand more deeply now that healing cannot be rushed, prescribed, or reduced to “letting go.” Sometimes healing begins with simply feeling safe enough to hear yourself again. Sometimes it is learning to trust the voice inside you that you were taught to question. Sometimes it is grieving. Sometimes it is anger. Sometimes it is discovering joy without apologizing for it.
And sometimes healing is a reclamation.
My work is not about asking people to become who they were before something difficult happened. I am much more interested in helping create space for the person who is emerging on the other side—the person who gets to decide, perhaps more consciously than ever before, who they want to become next.
Today, my work brings together Metapsychology Coaching, SomatIQ Breathwork™, Reiki and energy work, meditation, sacred ceremony, education, and mentoring.
Some people come to me because they feel stuck in patterns they can't seem to change. Some are exhausted and need a place to reconnect with themselves. Some are curious about energy work or spirituality. Some are navigating enormous life transitions. Some are parents and caregivers who need someone who understands the road they're walking. And some simply know that something inside them is ready for change, even if they don't yet have words for what that change needs to be.
I don't believe there is one modality, one spiritual path, or one answer that works for everyone.
Instead, I believe in creating compassionate spaces where you can become curious about yourself—your body, your breath, your energy, your patterns, your intuition, and your own inner wisdom.
Sometimes healing looks like release.
Sometimes it looks like rest.
Sometimes it looks like learning something new, drawing a boundary, reclaiming a forgotten part of yourself, or standing at a threshold and consciously saying:
I am ready for what comes next.
That is the space I hope to create through Healing with Joy.
